0Really annoyed by this app. When you sign up you are given zero access till they call you. When they call they require that you give them admin access to your site. So I give the guy from their service my login info, he says we will have you set up in 10 minutes. I get a phone call from the same guy 5 minutes later saying it didn’t work. So I give the login info to him again, he still doesn’t get it and manages to lock the BC login. So I go and reset it and he still doesn’t have the login info correct. I say enough, I don’t need to demo your your product this bad, and hang up.
Why they can’t have a simple signup process like SumAll that you can do all yourself in 2 minutes like I did is beyond me.Their signup gauntlet I can guarantee is costing them a lot of customers that don’t even want to give out their phone number.

0Great idea but it doesn’t work!
As soon as this was released I signed up but I soon discovered it just doesn’t work.
It seems to activate 50% of the time while the customer is still in the checkout process. I keep getting abandoned checkout notifications and only to get a completed order a minute or so later.
This could be good but it should of been released yet!

0Your sites down apparently. Doesnt bode well for how the plug in will work.
I’ve seen these plugin scripts cause a loop at checkout which prevents anyone from ordering at all.

0Absolute pain to sign up. First you have to complete a form online, to which they say they’ll contact you back in one business day. I’ve done that three times over a period of four working days and haven’t been contacted at all. Just wasted my time so, I won’t bother trying again and can only hope that BigCommerce can suggest an alternative sometime soon.

0Hi, my name is JB with Abandoned Cart Plugin. I’d like to comment on some of the feedback above:
Norm,
Sorry for your difficulties with the signup process. I’m glad to let you know a new version of the signup process will be live soon. This process will be fully automated and have simple steps to follow. Right now we offer a 100% free setup service. We’ve had a huge number of signups since launching the app a few weeks ago and the feedback on the level of service provided with setup is awesome. We’re open M-F 9am-6pm EST. Call us for support and somebody friendly here will answer the phone and gladly assist.

Paul,
Any possible bugs you were experiencing with the email notifications has been corrected. We value our user base’s feedback, feature requests and bug reports and work daily to make the app as strong as possible.

Ian,
I’m not sure of your situation. Possibly you’re overseas and there was difficulty connecting during working hours? We take great pride in taking all calls (no voicemail here) and returning calls/emails the same day. Service and support is what sets us apart from other app, marketing, design and development companies. Feel free to contact me directly at jb@madwiremedia.com . I’d like an opportunity to speak with you and provide you some complementary service.

0Would be great if the e-mail message was customizable, ie; name the coupon code, Add your company logo, or be able to highlight the specific discount the coupon code is worth. I like the idea of the immediate follow up though and am excited to see how efficient this app will be.

0A couple of big problems with this plugin forced us to deactivate it (for now).
1. At the time of this review it’s unbrandable, forced to use a coupon code, & takes customers to the home page and not to their shopping cart. If you use option sets (sizes and colors for example) those options also do not show in the email.
2. Confused many customers with an “Incomplete Order” email accompanied by a vague description from an unfamiliar sender (which hotmail flagged as a scam, btw).
^ The main problem we ran in to was that a customer would temporarily abandon their order, place the order a few minutes later (before they received the email), then they would still receive an “Incomplete Order” email and start to worry about their good order. Our customer service line received countless calls about this exact issue on a daily basis as we do higher volume.
3. You have to work with their rep and can’t set it up on your own. This means you have to listen to the whole sales pitch about all of the other services Madwire offers.
I think this could be a very good plugin eventually but until it is more customizable we’re going to have to shut it off mainly due to the confusion it’s caused our customer base.

0Confusion with customers set off red flags, and they will quickly stop doing business with you and go to your competitors. But you know what? Some of the best software out there today initially had issues. So I guess you have to start somewhere.
I am still much interested in the Abandoned Cart Plugin, but I too will wait until some of the issues are worked out.
I used to work for a company that used this same type app, and I know for a fact that it recovers sales. Another good app we used to have is sending an email to customers reminding them what was in their wish list and letting them know when their wish list would be deleted. This one really got customers returning to the site to make purchases, especially for limited edition merchandise.
Good luck to you Abandoned Cart Plugin. And I look forward to working with you in the future.

0App really didn’t work for me. There was no way to track customer response or order conversions. Users of this plug in do not have an web based interface to be able to track any customer response to this abandoned order e-mails.

0Would Abandoned Cart Plugin employee please comment on the above issues so we know if they were resolved, please? I’d like to know that all the issues above were resolved before I sign up for the program. It sounds like an amazing program, but it will give more issues than benefits with all the bugs listed above.

0Love this app! I had it turned off for 1 week and turned it back on and it sent all the e-mails for that week, and in 10 min I had a customer that thought they ordered 2 days ago and sealed a $600 sale! Thanks Madwire!

0Hello!
We want to address a few of the issues above and update the status of Abandoned Cart:
- The signup process is now fully automated. Sign up and give it a try without having to pick up the phone, you’ll be all set in 15 minutes or less.
- The time before a cart is considered abandoned is now an adjustable option, but the default is 30 minutes before Abandoned Cart finds their order abandoned.
- Abandoned Cart doesn’t ever put a script on your website so there should be no worries about it interfering with the checkout process at all.
- The Abandoned Cart email message customizable so you can enter your own message to send to your customers. You can also include your logo in the email as well as set the coupon code.
- We are developing the functionality to track conversions and it should be available in the next update we make to Abandoned Cart. We will keep you updated!
Thank You
